School Change Team

Our School Change Team (SCT) is made up from representatives of all the stakeholders in our community. Parents, staff and governors come together 3 evenings a year (7.00 - 9.00 p.m.) in order to engage in discussion about the strengths, successes and areas for development at Dore Primary School. It is an arena where questions can be asked and suggestions made (meeting 1 September) and the team together maps out an action plan for the year (meeting 2 in October).   The The progress is then reviewed in June in meeting 3. The SCT publishes an annual newsletter and occasional other pieces of information.  The Dore Democrats are also consulted as part of this process.

The SCT may form focus groups to explore an aspect more deeply.
In 2009-2010 SCT consulted with all parents and then produced the very effective Code of Conduct for Dog Owners.
In 2010-2011 the SCT updated the School Dress Code.
In 2011-2012 the SCT ran the Action Mobile group and a Phonics and Handwriting group that met together and supported the school in gaining the new Y3 mobile and adopting a new handwriting scheme.
In 2012-2013 the SCT discussed Playtimes and use of the yard and fields, the website, offered good support to the parent questionnaire process and follow-up and helped rally great support in keeping our school ground fence-line where it is. Lots of actions that made a real difference.
2013-2014 - Two ACTION groups have been formed.  Road Safety Awareness and Engaging Parents which is focusing on how parents can support their children at home and in school.
2014-2015 - Ongoing work with the Road Safety Action Group.  Lengthy consultation, including questionnaire to ALL parents, re awkward age cohort sizes in Y1/2 and mixed age classes - ongoing updates reAdmissions situation in SW Sheffield.  See the July 2015 SCT newsletter here.
