Candlelit Christmas

posted 20 Dec 2019, 09:05 by Richard France
Many thanks to the 400 people from the school community who braved the elements to attend our first 'Candlelit Christmas' event.  Many children across the school were involved in preparations: Y4s singing, baking and lantern making; Y3 and Y5 making lanterns and decorations; Y2 baking yet more mince pies; and Dore Democrats organising people on the evening.

Events like this wouldn't be possible without our amazing staff, who gave up their evenings to set up, serve drinks, organise the Y4 choir, perform themselves, and join in with the singing.

It was definitely worth the effort, as the evening was enjoyed by so many people, and hearing everyone joining in for the sing-a-long was quite a spectacle.  We raised over £600, which the Dore Democrats will be deciding how to spend in January.  Thank you to all who attended for your generosity.
