ESCAL 'City Talks'

posted 21 Oct 2014, 09:28 by Julie Davison
Twelve very eloquent Year 3 and Year 4 pupils represented our school at the ESCAL 'City Talks' after taking a bus trip to the special venue of the Sheffield Town Hall.  The children took part in many 'talk' activities, meeting and mixing with lots of children from other schools across the city.

The 'talk' activities included a 'Philosophy Circle' and practising their debating skills right in the Council Chambers! Year 3's confidently 'proposed' the motion: 'This house believes that pet's are for life and have rights'. While the Year 4's successfully 'proposed' the motion: 'This house believes that the Summer break should be reduced to three weeks. All spoke clearly and with purpose. Possible leaders of the future - we think!
