Hardwick Hall - More Glass Than Wall

posted 16 May 2014, 08:42 by Richard Hanks
This year the Year 4 summer topic is called 'More Glass than Wall' and yesterday the children found out why at a visit to Hardwick Hall. We found out all the ways Bess of Hardwick showed off her wealth, especially by using a lot of glass, which was very expensive.

The children investigated many aspects of Tudor life for both rich and poor people in the Hall and the gardens. Everyone agreed being a rich Tudor was much much better than being a poor one!
