We held a tremendous family sports day naming our teams after famous Steel City names and working together in mixed age teams with the older pupils supporting our younger pupils in a whole day of sports and team-building activities.  We had tremendous support from parents and all the children supported each other really well and had a turn in all the activities.  The event started with our Opening Ceremony in which 3 of our Y6 pupils, Claudia, Daisy and Isabel led the whole school in a dance to the music "We will rock you" - it looked spectacular with the bright team shirts displaying the Sheffield Steel Logo and the children forming the logo. This was followed by a super cheer leading display before the activities began.  At lunch-time the sun came out to shine on the HUGE family picnic enjoyed by all.  All teams completed the circuit of activities before the final event of the day which was the Y6 long race which was run in great sporting way and won by Lindy Davison and Alex Drury.  Callum and Bailey's Mum provided every child with a GREEN school sports week band from her workplace LLoyds TSB.  The brightly coloured Steel City T. shirts may now be used for PE :)   Many, many thanks to all who helped out on the day, to the DPA for Ts and serving refreshments and especially to Mr. France who gave much time, energy  and planning to staging our excellent Steel City Sports :)
