Y3 RE Focus Day: Sikhism

Y3 spent the day learning all about Sikhism. We realised there were lots of new words to learn so we created a learning wall to help us. We spent the morning being detectives, finding out about the 5 K's and why they are important to Sikhs. We read the story of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak and retold the story through drama. In the afternoon we learned about the Sikh harvest festival, Baisakhi and looked at some important Sikh artefacts. We made a Nishan Sahib (the flag that flies outside of the Gurdwara) and a chauri (a fan used over the Guru Granth Sahib).
