Sing Up at Ash House Care Home

posted 12 Dec 2014, 23:16 by Lynnette Glossop
Our Sing Up choir made a special visit to the Ash House Residential Care home in Dore to sing for a great audience who were very pleased to see the children.  This was our very first visit in a new link forged through a SCC project to link schools with Care homes so that children are more aware of the needs of our very senior citizens and those with senile dementia. We were warmly welcomed after a chilly walk and it was very fitting that the snow swirled outside as the children sang White Christmas! :)  Many thanks to Nick Cox and Alex Hayward Browne who lead our Sing Up choir each week.  We are looking forward to establishing this new community link and our next visit to Ash House when some children will chat with residents in an oral history project.
