Sport Relief - 2014

Again DPS thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Sport Relief last Friday.  Children and staff came to school dressed in Sports gear and as their sporting hero if they wished and by the end of the day our week long goal as a school to walk/run from Land's End to John O'Groates was realised!  Every class joined in through the week taking every opportunity to add to the mileage, including some noble efforts during the lunch hour and of course in our usual PE time and regulars like the Reception classes Wednesday Walk. Voluntary donations were collected on Friday for Sport Relief. IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO SEND YOUR DONATION IN TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE!
A highlight of the day and a new feature of our sporting life was the keenly contested Staff v Parents netball match which took place after school organised by Mrs. Granville and the DPA. A small but appreciative audience supported this very friendly but also skilled and competitive match which saw an impressively large staff honourably defeated 3-5.  It was clear to see some of our parents are keen players and there was somewhat a height advantage in the goal shooting area :) :) :)  This was a great event which I am sure will be repeated.  Thank you to Mrs. Granville, to our umpire Paul Hopkinson and to ALL of our players.  Watch this space for a rounders match in the summer!
