Stratford Y6 Residential final day

posted 7 Jun 2014, 23:57 by Lynnette Glossop
We had a great day to finish a TREMENDOUS Y6 residential at Stratford-Upon-Avon.  Y6 were wonderful ambassadors for the school through the whole trip and we received super positive comments about the group.  All enjoyed a taste of Youth Hostelling and also the Shakespeare experience working with the Royal Shakespeare Company and seeing where William Shakespeare was born and lived for many years.  Every member of Y6 joined us for an action packed 3 days with a GREAT variety of activity. Our last day was at Warwick Castle where the children had the freedom to explore the castle and ramparts and to watch several demonstrations.  We saw the trebouchet project a fireball an enormous distance, the portcullis raised, a long-bow presentation and the highlight of the day for many a brilliant Birds of Prey show where the wind conditions were perfect for flying and we were so close to 4 majestic birds sweeping very close. Very many thanks to all the staff who volunteered to accompany the Y6s on our residential :)
