Fabulous weather at The Oakes sees the centre at its very best in the beautiful setting and grounds for our annual weekend trip. You will see from the pictures that some children were out playing mini-golf bright and early before a delicious breakfast of freshly baked chocolate-chip muffins!  We have a super group here who very quickly settled into their dorms and all the challenges and activities finishing their first evening with a floodlit wide game outdoors before a peaceful and sleepy night. It is great to see the older children who have been several times caring for the new visitors. A bright and clear afternoon of activities with plenty of mud baths followed by hot showers; archery, craft, climbing walls, low ropes and zip wire, remote control cars with welcome drinking chocolate to keep out the cold.  A busy afternoon before a fab roast chicken dinner! Meetings are looking at the parables of Jesus with the help of 'Finding Nemo' clips. In the evening we had more wide games outdoors and a roaring campfire with super campfire singing, hot chocolate and marshmallows - a long and tiring day that was great FUN! :)
