The world's oldest football club comes to Y5!

It was an afternoon of sport today with the field full of footballers and the yard full of basketball players in preparation for the football festivals we have coming up at King Ecgbert and the Hotshots basketball competition in November.  We were lucky enough to have two fabulous coaches from Sheffield FC work with all the children to improve skills and team work. The year group was spilt into girls and boys, with the girls having the first session with the coaches. As one player said "I didn't like football before but now I really like it!" Mrs Smith and I were so pleased to hear that because trying new sports in school to see which you like best is so important. Then the boys went up on to the field, to work on their dribbling and tackling and it was great afterwards when one of them said "This has been one of the best days in school EVER!"
The weather was wonderful and we all feel fabulous after an afternoon outside, taking part in sport! Thanks to the coaches who were great at explaining exactly how we could improve our skills and to Mr France who organised the sessions for us.
