On Friday 18th October Year 2 had an R.E. focus day focussing on Christianity. To start off the day we walked down to Dore and Totley United Reformed Church, where we listened to a speaker from the church tell us all about Christian symbols and some of the beliefs of the Christian faith. We also had the fantastic opportunity to explore the church itself - searching for symbols and signs of the Christian faith.
We are so grateful to our parent helpers who joined us on this trip, and want to say a big well done to the children for their fantastic behaviour and learning throughout the morning. The church were so pleased to have us, and have said how wonderful it was to have us there. Well done Y2!
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Gleadhill for her fabulous organising!
Can you spot any of the Christian symbols we might have found in the church?
Do you know what a Christingle is and why some Christians make them?
