"Poetry is like music and the voices of birds. Poetry is rhythm that is quiet and peaceful." Rania, Y4H
We have really enjoyed thinking about and starting to write our own poetry. We have been focussing on similes. Here are just two examples of the work so far:
An autumnal leaf
A red auburn shimmering leaf
floats side-to-side all the way down
like a feather falling from a nest.
A crumply red leaf
slowly floating gently down
like a bird trying to fly.
A bright amber leaf
swerving down
like a paper aeroplane.
Rosa, Y4H
A magical leaf
A magical leaf
spiralled down from the periwinkle washed sky
like a sprinkle of fairy dust.
A graceful leaf
churned rapidly down
like a fluttering fairy.
A beautiful leaf
spiralled down
like a graceful ballerina in a show.
Aggie, Y4H
