Y6 Racing ahead at Forge Partnership Sports Hall Athletics Finals

The Y6 Sports Hall Athletic Team have continued their fantastic run of form at the finals of the Forge Partnership Sports Hall Athletics Championship: taking first place and bringing home a fantastic addition to our trophy cabinet. The team took part in both track and field events, including relays, hurdles, jumps and throws. There were some truly outstanding individual performances: including one member of the team delivering a throw that sent organisers looking for a longer measuring tape in order to score it!

All members of the team worked very hard in training sessions throughout this week and their determination, resilience and teamwork shone through in the events. Mr Paterson, who has coached the team, said of the Y6s: "They all have given 100% to this event and have done so with smiles on their faces. It's been great fun and they really deserve this win. All of Y6 have been developing their athletics skills through our learning in PE recently and it's wonderful to get this result to cap it off. "

Whilst the team will now enjoy a well earned rest, they won't be hanging up their running shoes for good. By achieving first place, the team has now qualified for the Sheffield Finals, held in the new year, in which they will compete against the best schools from other sports partnerships throughout the city.
