Year 5 Day 2 in Castleton - the long walk

posted 10 Mar 2016, 13:56 by Richard Hanks
It has been a super second day in and around Castleton today. After a hearty breakfast we assembled in our groups to head out into the hills and valleys around the Hollowford Centre.

The wet weather had cleared, and although the sun was not shining we had good walking conditions. Most groups traveled around 10km up and down some very steep hills such as Mam Tor.

Other highlights included a snowman of a dubious presidential candidate, an awesome ice slide on top of Mam Tor, lunch in caves and extreme dog walking.

The children are tired but happy and will enjoy an film and a good sleep tonight.

Last day tomorrow, how sad!
