Year 6 Caribbean Carnival

At the end of the Spring term, Y6 had a Caribbean Carnival to celebrate the end of our "We're Jammin'" unit of work about Jamaica.  During PE, thanks to the PE Sport Grant, Miss Fiona spent several hours with each class to create a samba fit for a Carnival! Children made masks for the dance and some even made maracas. They also researched and cooked their own Jamaican food to share with the year group.  Thanks to all the parents who helped to provide the amazing and delicious spread of food we had!

Children also completed a TASC project on the landscape of Jamaica. Each group researched a key feature of Jamaica to present to the rest of the class. Come and have a look at our fantastic display, showing a wide variety of children's learning. The display is above Y6B's cloakroom.
