Each November there is a weekend opportunity for children in Y4, Y5 and Y6 to visit The Oakes Holiday Adventure Centre at Norton in  Sheffield.  This is a fun-filled weekend with lots of group activity, games and outdoor adventures. There is also a Christian theme to explore in three group times. This year we looked at the parables that Jesus told and how Christians use these stories to help them live their lives today.  The children are divided into dorms which are staffed by young leaders and there are plenty of leaders to help everybody feel well settled and actively involved. At the Oakes there are craft activities, wide games, low ropes course, remote controlled cars, zip wire, rafting, archery, climbing walls, games room, coffee bar, mini-basketball, frisbee golf, field games, trampolining and a bonfire with singing and hot chocolate with marshmallows! :)  The food is great and children love to have their freedom to choose their groups and activities and to have time to chill out together.
