Y3 Roman Day

The whole school looks forward to Roman Day when in the afternoon the place is marauded by a rabble of toga clad Roman citizens and hoards of noisy and fierce soldiers.  They take over the grounds in battle practice and use the Roman shields in the protective 'tortoise' formation.  There is a school tour as well and we can hear them coming a good distance away!  Many thanks to all the parents who come in to support the design and making part of the day. As you can see from the photos there are many different activities which take place throughout the day and this is a real embedding of the learning in the Veni, Vici, Vidi themed project.  This is Latin for, I came, I saw, I conquered, which is rumoured to be what Julius Ceasar declared.
