We operate a Creative Curriculum at Dore in which each year group adopts themes each half-term such as "We'll meet again" (Y6 WWII), "Dem Bones" (Y2 Our bodies), "On Top of the World" (Y3 The Arctic). We encourage our children to take individual and collective responsibility for their own learning and the school adopts thinking skills strategies. All teachers are trained in Philosopy4Children and TASC (Thinking in a Social Context) techniques and these methods provide a rich opportunity for children to engage collaboratively, intellectually and socially whilst their own views and contributions are developed and valued. Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is covered in a wide-ranging programme of Growing Up Skills (GUS).
