Road Safety

At Dore Primary School which lies in a prime neighbourhood area right in Dore Village amongst busy roads and a bus route, we give a very high profile to educating our children about Road Safety.

We raise awareness working within the local community to encourage good driving and parking habits that keep everybody safe.  Dore Primary School was the first school in the city to receive the Gold Travel Award. Each year we take part in National Road Safety Week and work with the Brake Charity.

Our School Change Team formed a strong parent action group in Autumn 2013 to support the school in it's ongoing quest to improve road safety and driver behaviour aspects.

Each year group builds aspects of road safety into their Growing Up Skills (PSHE) lessons.  Here Y4 used drama to help learn these life-saving skills.

ALL Y5 children are offered the BikeAbility course and we have now also introduced a Scooter Session for all Y2 children.
