Chinese New Year continued...

A huge thank you to Nelson's Mummy, who came into school this afternoon to tell us more about Chinese New Year. The children were very excited and thankful to receive a red hand-made envelope for good fortune! Thank you :)

In class we have been learning about the Chinese New Year story, involving the 12 zodiac animals. We have had a look at ordinal numbers in maths, to help us identify which place each animal finished in the race. We have also been on a hunt around the classroom and recorded all the different animals involved. This morning we talked about the different characteristics that each animal has and reflected on which animal we were most like. In the art room we've been busy making dragon lanterns and dragon paintings. We have also made a start on our wishes for the new year to hang on our very own wishing tree.
