Summer 1 in FS2

It's been hot, hot, hot out there.  OK...warm...ish.  It's certainly been sunny!  At least when it hasn't been cloudy...or raining.  We'll just go with the usual: "pleasant".

Anyway...it's been a grand half term in Foundation!

Weather - check
Great learning - check
Children overdoing the sunblock - check.

We've had a great time following our visit to the Farm.  Here's a rundown on what we've been learning:
* Literacy: Little Red Hen - sequencing, rewriting.  Farmer Duck - "hotseating", writing alternative endings, writing an ending summary.
* Maths: introducing 3D shapes and revisiting 2D shape through tractor art (come and see our display on the stairs).  Doubling.  Sorting objects based on different criteria.
* P.E. gymnastics on the equipment and outdoor P.E. getting ready for Sports Day!
* Opportunities to explore our Farm topic through contionuous provision such as role play, painting, books and more!

We hope the children have enjoyed the recent half term and that you all have a relaxing and enjoyable half term break.  As always keep an eye on the website, calendar and your emails for information about upcoming events in the final half term of the year!
