Whirlow Hall Farm

We couldn't have been luckier with the weather today; what a glorious sunny day we have had at Whirlow Farm, perfect for our first ever school trip!

After our coach journey, we got to see pigs and their piglets, cows, bulls, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and lambs, ponies and horses, guinea pigs and rabbits. We saw where all of the animals lived and asked lots of questions about how they care for the animals. We're looking forward to taking care of our own animals on our very own farm here, in our outdoor area over the next few weeks.

We also learnt how to make bread through the story of The Little Red Hen. We found the wheat, planted it, picked it, ground it, kneaded the dough and even tasted the bread.

A huge thank you to all of the parent volunteers for giving up their time to support us today and also to Whirlow Hall Farm for showing us around your fantastic farm.
