Our Summer 2 learning update!

We have been enjoying the wonderful June weather but still persevering with lots of new learning and the children still continue to blow our socks off!

We applied our strong tens and units knowledge to money this week, and made amounts using 10ps and 2ps. Take a look...

Outdoor learning

We were very lucky last week and got the chance to visit Shirebrook Nature Valley to learn more about animal classification. We did pond dipping, scavenger hunts, habitat building and even made some animal artwork using objects found in the woods. Thanks again to all the parents and carers who helped on the day!

We have been mastering our skills this week with sewing our very own mammal hand puppet! We practiced either a running or an over-stitch to put together our animals - the final results really impressed all visitors who have come into Y1 this week! The children can take these home at the end of the term.
