What an exciting week it's been!
The children have begun their new topic "How does your garden grow?" with lots of scientific thinking and planning. We have learned all about the different parts of a plant, and have set up our first experiment to see how the number of leaves on a plant affects its growth.

In maths we have been learning all about angles (especially acute, obtuse and right angles), and also learning about different lines (vertical, horizontal, parallel and perpendicular lines). Can you explain what each of these looks like?

In English we have been immersing ourselves in Rudyard Kipling's Just So Stories. We have also analysed The Elephant's Child to see which writing features he used to make his story exciting and funny.

Y3GW had their final rehearsal in preparation for their violin concert next Thursday (2:45 in the KS2 Hall - please e-mail for tickets. The children are really excited to show you what they have learned!

As well as this, the children have been practising their French vocabulary, playing 'Months of the Year' dominoes.

And finally, what a wonderful sunny day we've had for Sports day! Y3 all showed such resilience today and should feel extremely proud of themselves for their efforts, skills and kindness. We are very proud teachers. Thank you to everyone who came to support! Have a great weekend and stay safe in the sunshine!
