Off to Weston Park

This week we all enjoyed a fantastic visit to Weston Park Museum.  We split our day in two. For part of the day we had the chance to look in all the galleries and find out fascinating facts about history, cultures and the natural world. We were especially looking out for artefacts from Ancient Egypt.  We discovered that there are two real Ancient Egyptian mummies in their painted coffins in the museum.

During the other part of the day we learnt how the Ancient Egyptians prepared people for their journey into the afterlife. We even had the chance to make our own shabti dolls (which the Ancient Egyptians placed in their tombs to accompany them to the afterlife.)

Many thanks to the parents who came with us and helped the children explore the museum.
