Torrijas in Y4/5G - yummy!!

We have Miss Laila in our class from Madrid and as a part of learning about a country we felt we needed to taste some Spanish food. Miss Laila suggested torrijas as they are a traditional Spanish treat around Easter so this afternoon we made some. Now we see why they are so popular! They are a way to use food which might otherwise be thrown away (stale, dry bread) with ingredients which are easily available (eggs, milk and sugar) plus they are a source of lots of energy as Spring arrives and there is work to be done. Quick and easy to make why not make some and see whether you agree?
