Back to 1940 in Y6!

This week the Y6s have been travelling back in time to experience life as evacuees at Cannon Hall. We had the opportunity to cook using rationed ingredients, Dig For Victory, Make Do And Mend as well as look at primary sources of information from the time in the form of posters and newspaper reports and use Morse code to send messages! Everyone wore clothing appropriate to the time and we agreed life was very tough for all those who lived through World War II.

As always we had a willing group of parent volunteers who gave up their time to help us run these activities for the children, thanks to you all! You were brilliant, dressing up and supporting all the activities - you certainly earned your vegetable soup, baking powder bread rolls and the carrot biscuits!!

The staff at Cannon Hall were delighted with the behaviour, attitude, questions and comments from all the children so well done to you too!
