As we near the end of our World War II topic, the children having been further getting to grips with life on the Home Front and learning about rationing. To help preserve precious supplies -and practise our sewing skills- the children having been repairing old clothes and giving them a new lease of life!
While some repairs were purely practical, others delved in the realms of embellishment. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of the repairs and the application shown by the children.
To further improve our Design and Technology skills, the children also baked some very tasty biscuits using the official government-mandated recipe (no extra margarine allowed!). And also final thank you to the parent volunteers for helping make the day such a success.
