Willow Weaving

Today Year 6 were visited by Chirstine Burdin from ArtRoom to embark upon an outdoor art installation. With our school's focus on outdoor learning in mind, this felt like an ideal way for our Year 6s to commemorate their time at Dore Primary School by enriching the outdoor environment that we are so fortunate to enjoy at this school.

Christine began by giving the children some background on the qualities of willow wood and the historical roots of willow weaving before demonstrating the techniques we would need to complete the project. All pupils showed great focus and resilience in learning and applying a new skill.
