Year 6 Leavers Sleepover: A mostly silent night

Having had the weekend to catch up on missed sleep we can now reflect on the brilliant Year 6 sleepover. Firstly, thank you to parents for steadfastly ignoring our request to let the children put up their tents unassisted - definitely a good call!

Once camp was erected, children foraged for kindling and lit fires on which to toast marshmallows and starburst. Pupils then had time to enjoy the outdoor space before camp games - a furiously contested game of Capture the Flag and, as darkness was setting, a game of Hide and Seek.

Before turning in for the night, children sat round the campfire and shared some touching reflections about their time at Dore Primary School. Most children stayed slept in their tents, however some (and Mr Fletcher) enjoyed a night sleeping under the stars.

Thank you again to parents for sorting out tents and helping before and after; also thank you to Year 6s for making it such a lovely evening!
